Gwrych Castle is an 1815 local limestone replica of an Edwardian fortress. There are 18 randomly spaced embattled towers, both round and square, on an extensive curtain wall. The U-shaped main block is 3-storeys high with a basement to the front, and single storey to the rear built into the hillside. The main entrance is through a Gothic doorway in the western elevation. There are large traceried windows of perpendicular style in cast iron. The interior is Regency in style and it has four lodges. There is a stableyard and other buildings to the south-west of the main block.
