An earthwork hill-slope enclosure, excavated between 1978-1980 prior to destruction by quarrying.
The enclosure, defined by a bank and ditch, was laid out across south-west facing slopes. In plan it was an irregular quadrangle, roughly 80m north-west to south-east by 50-80m. There were entrances in the west and east angles.
The enclosure was dated to the later Bronze Age although it appears that there was earlier activity on the site. Later finds indicate that activity, if not occupation, continued into the late Roman period. Roman finds included a bronze wire bracelet with sherds of a later fourth century Oxfordshire Ware bowl.
