DisgrifiadPenrhiwceiber Workmen's Hall & Institute was built in 1888 at a cost of £2,000. At the time of opening it had billiards rooms, a library and reading room, and a public hall (capacity 600). A cinema was added later. Although major refurbishment took place in the early 1990s, the internal fabric of the building was improved in the late-1960s when a new foyer was provided for the cinema through a grant from CISWO. Much of the original fabric and an interesting early projection booth has been retained. The building still functions as a cinema and social institute.
