Glogfawr Mine was mainly worked since 1834, but some surface workings are earlier. The mine was developed from 1834-40 and worked from 1860, together with Logaulas (NPRN 33890) and Glogfach (NPRN 33873), with Level Fawr (NPRN 33880) reaching the mine in 1872, until 1893. There was a further period of working, from 1907-20.

The surface remains cannot be functionally separated from those of Glogfach. Traces remain of tramways, flat-rod lines and two areas of dressing floors, with areas of tips, whilst shaft-mouths and level entrances, with their associated tips are also apparent.
