DisgrifiadPenallta Workmen's Hall opened in the mid-1920s (the foundation stone was laid 17 May 1923) and provided a library and reading rooms, billiards rooms, committee rooms, public hall, and other features typical of workmen's institutes in the South Wales Coalfield during this period. In later years the Hall operated a popular snooker hall. The building remains in use today albeit as a crisis centre for victims of domestic abuse.
