DisgrifiadCropmarks recorded during RCAHMW aerial reconnaissance on 22nd July 2013 show a square, ditched, univallate enclosure measuring approx. 60m square, seen in fields to the south of Great Llanmelin. The enclosure has one square, and one rounded corner meaning that a Roman military origin does not seem likely. This may be a later prehistoric or Romano-British enclosure. However, deserted settlement earthworks to the north at Great Llanmelin seen on LiDAR imagery mean that a medieval date may also be likely.
