St Joseph's Catholic church, Penarth was built in 1914-15 in the Lombardic/Italian style, gable entry type to the designs of F. A. Walters.

The church was planned in 3 stages: "Originally the body of the present church was used and a temporary wall built where the altar rail is now. In 1928 the present sanctuary, side chapels and sacristies were prepared.
