Description

18th - 19th century mainly. Roughcast. 3 storey. Slate roof. Windows flush framed with glazing bars. Not, as popularly believed, a Bishop's Palace, but a gentleman's house [CSB] including truncated tower gatehouse, terraced walk and ruins of 16th Century bathhouse.

Wallpaintings: A private chapel of Bishop Rudd (†1616) with coloured woodwork and painted glass (destroyed).
