DescriptionOAN field survey, located by GPS to an accuracy of +/- 1m. A cairn located to the east of Far Away house at the junction of the plantation and the water course, just to the south of the footpath. It survives as a sub-circular pile of small-medium sized angular stone bedrock slabs that are packed tightly together, with heather masking it. The cairn is partially earthfast and is badly damaged with a slot dug through the eastern side, (a possible excavation?). And may have had a cist. It is approximately 5m in diameter and up to 0.5m high. The cairn has an excellent view down the valley to lower land in the west. 2002/10/17/OAN/PJS
