Site Description

Wreckage covers an area 22m x 22m and has no significant height above general level of the seabed.

Event and Historical Information:
The schooner, PRINCESS LOUISE was built in Perth in 1871, and was registered at Barrow in Furness. It was owned at time of loss in April 1924 by Alex Purdy, Annalong, Co Down. The position for the loss is given as 1.25miles, bearing 300 degrees from the Monkstone Lighthouse, which places the wreck within the Cardiff Grounds. The wreck is reported as having been dispersed by 17 April 1925.
