This large, round, stone summit cairn at the top of Banc y Gwyngoed measures 12 metres by 10 metres and stands up to 1.6 metres high. Two later shelters (NPRNs 529664 & 529665) have been built on top of the monument and a small fold (NPRN 529510) has also been appended to its northeastern side, built of cairn stones.
