NAR SN13SE10

One of three cairns (see also NPRN 310449-50) found at the summit of Foel Trigarn at the centre of a large hillfort (NPRN 94948). The west cairn is roughly 24m in diameter & is in the region of 1.7-2.9m high. Although conventionally attributed to the Bronze Age, it is possible that these cairns are contemporary with the fort, perhaps acting as a focus for ritual or ceremonial activity.
The cairns are greatly disturbed, but have defied antiquarian excavation.
