Site Description NAR SM83NE1

A ditched & slightly raised, oval enclosure, about 30-36m across, mutilated on the eastern side, having a further oval enclosure, about 46m by 54m, attached on the north: 'urns' were found here before 1849.

Possibly to be idetified as the 'tumulus surounded by a dyke' mentioned by Pughe (AC 3rd series 1 (1855), 271-4;273-4), from near which a bronze mirror handle was recovered from a cairn in 1826 (see Boon BBCS 28.4 (1980), 243-4).
