Site Description

Bryn Glas Slate quarry has a surviving incline, opencast and spoil tips. It is depicted in-use on OS County series mapping (Merioneth. XII.3 1919) - but does not appear on previous editions. There are two discrete working areas, serving separate levels; the principal buildings occur at that centred on given NGR, which linked to the second, c140m to the SSE by a tramway with incline, and with the public road by a tramway running 360m to the SW.
