Low, spread, stony banks define a rectangle, c.7.5m E-W by c.4.0m N-S; this is incorporated into a banked and scarped, sub-oval enclosure, c.14m by 10m.
St Mchael's chapel occupies the end of the northernmost summit ridge of Skirrid Fawr, in the N part of the summit enclosure (Nprn400378).

Mass is said to have been openly said within living memory, 1680.
