Description
St Mary's church, Halkyn was built in 1877-8 by John Douglas in the early Decorated style. The church comprises a nave, north aisle, south porch, chancel and northeast tower. Constructed of dressed snecked stone with slate roof. The interior furnishings are also by Douglas, including a round marble font with openwork Gothic cover and a polygonal wooden pulpit on a marble base. All windows are of stained glass. Amongst the 19th century monuments are some 18th century ones that were reclaimed from an earlier church on the same site.
