Description
A low swelling of the ground in the field south of the Bryn Celli Ddu chambered tomb (NPRN 93827) is all that remains of a Bronze Age type cairn.
The cairn, set some 50m south of Bryn Celli Ddu, was a circular structure some 20m in diameter. It is said to have been despoiled in about 1800 when a gold wedge is said to have been found. The monument was trenched in about 1930 when perimeter kerbing, a central cist were recorded, associated with burnt bone fragments.
