Haygardhay farm is shown with a circular enclosure surrounded on 3 sides by farmbuildings on OS 1st edition 25in mapping. The circular enclosure is annotated 'T.M.' which may be the origin of the placename 'Windmill Cove' marked to the west. A field-boundary runs westward from the farm down into the cove. Modern mapping reveals that the farm buildings have been developed and now cover the mill site.
