Description
A restored stone-built Cornish pumping-engine house; part of Meadow Shaft Lead Mine (nprn 85308). The beam engine house was built in 1857 and housed a 42in (1.06m) Cornish pumping engine with a 9ft (2.7m) stroke, running at three strokes per minute. The engine was sold for scrap in 1910. The building and surrounding remains are now part of Minera Lead Mines Country Park.
