Description
The tower is of an unknown date, although it was likely built in the nineteenth century in connection with the herring industry and it is mentioned as extant and in use as a sailors' lookout in 1871. It is 3m square structure with an apparently solid masonry base. The parapetted look-out platform is reached by a flight of stone steps on the south side. It is built on the Tomen Nevin mound (Nprn308100).
