DescriptionTypical Burton's shop building with chambers over, dating from 1938. Almost all exterior details are intact. Glazed white brick facades, with strongly emphasised rectangular geometric shapes, polished slate corners and cills below wide plate glass windows, curved at the corners. Formerly the names of all the other branches of the shop chain were painted on the top lights of the windows. Moulded window mullions and ribs of top-lights in bronze or gunmetal; custom-made ventilator covers, with the 'Burton' logo (in two patterns: oval and rectangular) similarly. There is one probably original boarded door and panelled doorway to the upstairs offices. One mosaic 'doormat' survives.
