Description
The Pembrokeshire village of Abereiddy or Aber Eiddy is home to former slate quarries linked to the Porthgain Quarries around half a kilometre to the east of the village. The main coastal slate quarry north-west of the beach (NPRN 40620) is now better known as the 'Blue Lagoon' inlet, used for coasteering activities. Quarryman's cottages for Porthgain Slate Quarry can still be seen at the north end of Abereiddy beach (NPRN 420562).

The storms of winter 2014 severely battered Abereiddy and removed quantities of beach material and defences. The aftermath of the storm was documented through RCAHMW aerial reconnaissance on 26th February 2014.
