Description
On the eastern bank of the River Usk are the Union Dry Docks, constructed in the late nineteenth century. The more easterly dock is the Channel Dry Dock or No.1, measuring approximately 238m by 29m and currently in use as a container terminal; the west dock is known as Eastern Dry Dock or No.2, measuring approximately 133m long by 22m wide and currently in water but not used.
