Description
Number 44, Pool Street is a small two-storey shop and dwelling with a roughcast front and slate roof. This simple C19 shop front has pilasters framing the door and window, beneath a plain fascia with deep moulded cornice. The doorway to the right has a half-lit panelled door with an overlight above. The shop window is a wide four-pane horned sash over a stallboard refaced in rubble stone. The upper storey has a two-pane horned sash window to the left.

Perhaps built by 1810, at which time this side of Pool Street had already been developed, it is known that it was a baker's shop in 1895.
