Description
Pen-y-bont Factory is recorded on the 1st and 2nd editions (1889 and 1900) of the 25-inch O. S. map as a working factory, denoting a woollen mill. The 3rd edition of 1915 shows the factory as disused. The long building on the east side of the lane had a watercourse on its east side which was fed by a reservoir 180 metres to the north-east, and its tailrace fed Tyn Coed Pandy (NPRN 16968), 230 metres to the south-south-west. The building has been demolished, its site marked by a bank of stones which underpin a modern dwelling.
