DescriptionBlaengarw Workingmen's Hall and Institute was constructed in 1893 and opened officially on 5 March 1894. Built at a cost of £3,400, the Hall contained a library and reading room, cinema and theatre, as well as several meeting rooms used by local trades union, political and sporting clubs. Closed in the 1970s following a gas leak, the building was restored and reopened in 1992. It remains in use as an arts venue and community space.
