Description
Opened in 1915, the Abergorki Workingmen's Institute was constructed through a levy paid by the workers of the Abergorky Colliery in Treorchy. A cinema operated in the building from the 1930s until the early-1970s and had a capacity of 503 seats. Subsequently used as a hub for businesses and community organisations. The majority of businesses left in the 1990s although the hall remains in use as a community space. It is currently known as the Abergorky Hall.
