Description
The Cilfynydd Workmen's Hall & Institute was opened in 1894. Built at a cost of £3,500 (£500 came from the company) and maintained from weekly contributions by the miners of the Albion Colliery , the Hall provided a library (on the ground floor) and reading room as well as meeting rooms and social space particularly for theatre. Subsequently a bingo hall, the building was demolished in the late 1980s and a new community hall built on the site.
