Coelbren Welfare Hall was constructed at the end of the 1930s following a grant from the Miners' Welfare Fund in 1937. The land which the Hall was built on was transferred to the local welfare committee in 1924. In addition to the Hall, which provided public meeting space, was a recreation ground. The Hall remains in use a social hall today.
