Cefn Fforest Miners Welfare Hall and Institute was constructed in in the interwar period using money granted by the Miners' Welfare Fund. Linked with the recreation ground next door with its tennis courts and cricket ground, the Hall is today used primarily as a club house for the local rugby club.
