Description
Ystrad Mynach Miners' Welfare ground, which is laid out over 19 acres, opened in stages during the late-1920s and early 1930s. The first part, consisting of bowling green and tennis courts, was unveiled in August 1928 having been constructed at a cost of £1,300. The remainder, including a children's playground, playing fields and pavilion, brought the total cost of the ground to nearly £10,000. Most of the original layout has survived although the pavilion has been demolished.
