Description
Capel Pen Arw is situated some 750m south-east of Aberglasney House (NPRN 17068). Its exact location is unknown, but in 1834 Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Wales described it as being a short distance from Ffynnon y capel (NPRN 32253). Ffynnon y capel is located in woodland known as Allt y Capel, and it is probable that the chapel was also situated there. The place names 'Cae Capel' and 'Dol y capel' also denote the existence of the chapel. In 1913 it was noted that the chapel was formerly a place of pilgrimage, and that the water had a reputation for its efficacy in the cure of rheumatism and diseases of the eye.
