Commenting as part of the crowd-sourcing project Crwydro in 2014, Alan Fryer quoted two lines from a longer poem by the bard Cynan about Llanfihangel Bachellaeth:

'Yn Llanfihangel Bachellaeth
Mae’r lle tawela ‘ngwlad Llŷn

In Llanfihangel Bachellaeth
is the quietest place in Llŷn'
