Description
A landing place is shown by annotation on an historic chart, just to the north of the rocks extending northwestward from Castl Point. Admiralty Sialing Directions dating to 1870 note 'Should it be necessary to communicate with the shore while blowing hard, the best half tide or low water landing place is the beach fronting the Marine Parade at the northeast end of the town, keeping as closely to the rocks from the castle as may be prudent.'
