Engine Pit was sunk c1800 by the Blaenavon Ironworks.

Complex incorporating the top of a brick and stone circular shaft, at the top of which is a stone plinth with cast iron machine base. On the N side, where the ground rises sharply, are rubble stone retaining walls.
