Description
Upper Forge Cottages comprise a terrace of two-storey houses built in the late eighteenth-century for workers employed at the nearby Clydach Upper Forge. The row appears on the Ordnance Survey County Series dated 1879 (Glamorgan, 25" first edition). The cottages were originally stone with pantile roofs and windowless rear elevations. The terrace overlooks the ravine that carried the tailrace from the iron forge. The terrace was extensively refurbished in the late-twentieth-century.
