Description

A ruined longhut is situated on the W edge of a level spur between two deeply incised stream valleys at c.385m above O.D.
It measures 11.5m (N-S) by 4.5m overall, and is bounded by boulder walls consolidated with turf and heather, and averaging 1.0m. wide and 0.4m. high.. There is a dividing wall toward the N end and a second cross wall, much less clear, dividing the structure into three approximately equal rooms N-S, the floor level of the northermost room being some 0.4m. below that of the others. The walls of this room have been raised subsequently, to form a shooting box. No entrances are visible.

Building shown on the O.S. 1:10000 map (1982 edition).
