DescriptionSalem Independent Chapel was first built on the site as a timber chapel in 1836. This was rebuilt in 1841, modified in 1890 and remodelled in 1899 with the earlier facade being retained. Salem is built in the Simple Rounded-Headed style, with two door entry to the centre of the long side of a hipped box plan,. The round-headed windows have marginal glazing and there is a large hall built to the left of the chapel. A Sunday School was added in 1900. Salem is now Grade 2 Listed.
