Bethel Methodist Chapel was first built in 1823 and rebuilt three times, in 1836, 1856 and 1867. The 1856 chapel was designed by architect Evan Harris of Merthyr and the third, in 1867, by Thomas Thomas of Landore. Bethel had further alterations/additions made in 1871, 1893 & 1903 but was then demolished during the 1960's. A new chapel was built in 1975, in the late twentieth century style with a gable-entry and L-shaped plan. Unfortunatly this new building was defective and became unusable, forcing the congregation in 1996 to merge with Nebo (NPRN 8889). By 2004 Bethel had been converted for residential use.
