Soar Methodist Chapel was built in 1824, enlarged in 1838 and rebuilt in 1887. This later Chapel was built in the Sub-Classical style with a central doorway in a gable front. The chapel had two storeys, and a large hall/school built at the rear. Soar closed in 1977 and was demolished in 1981. A new Catholic Church has now been built on the site.
