Description
Located in forestry is a roughly circular mound measuring 32m in diameter and 6m high surrounded by a ditch and counterscarp bank, well-defined on the north and west but apparently slighter on the south and east, though partly obscured here by masking vegetation. It lies towards the north-east end of a hillfort (Nprn226513).
The motte has been re-used as a landscape feature, with a revetted spiral path (still extant) leading to a summerhouse (built before 1785 but not noted 1875) upon the summit.
Associated with: Ruperra Castle parks/gardens (Nprn265743).
