Description
Tonyfelin Baptist Chapel was founded in 1784, with the first chapel built in 1800. This was rebuilt in 1820, and again in 1866. The present building, which appears to date from the 1866 reworking, is in the Classical style with a large central, round-headed doorway with ashlar dressings and panneled double wooden doors. Flanking these are two round-headed windows with stepped dressings, above which is a plain stringcourse. On the first floor are five round-headed windows, three smaller ones to the centre and two larger examples to the outer bays. In the gable is a round plaque reading TONYFELIN CAPEL Y BEDYDDWYR SEFYOLWYD 1784 ADEILADWYD 1866.
