Description
Ebenezer Baptist Chapel was built in 1897 and rebuilt 1904 in a mixture of architectural styles, including Sub-Classical and Arts and Crafts, with a long-wall entry plan. The facade facing the road is lit by a series of eight windows, four to the ground floor and four above, and the central bay is slightly advanced. The corners of the central bay and the outer corners of the building have large quoins, accentuated with horizontal grooves. The ground and upper storeys are seperated by a heavily moulded, wide stringcourse. In the pediement is a small plaque inscribed ' AD 1904 EBENEZER ENGLISH BAPTIST'. In 1990 this building was still in use as a chapel.
