Description
A Mission Room is portrayed on the Ordnance Survey Second Edition plan of 1899. It is not shown on the First Edition of 1870 though the building is present. It was perhaps part of the 'Old Colliery' shown hereabouts and later re-used. The building appears to have been removed before 1912 when it is absent from the Third Edition plan.

David Leighton, RCAHMW, 24 October 2014

Before 1917, a Sunday School had been held at St Silvester's (Church of England) Mission, Banks Road/Scotch Row and this closed on the opening of Mancot Church Hall in 1917. It had been opened by Revd S E Gladstone, Rector 1872-1904 and was in existence by 1895.
