Description

Bedwellty County Secondary school was officially opened in 1937. Built to the designs of Scottish architect John Bain who was architect to the Monmouthshire Education Committee, the school could accommodate 420 pupils, and was brick-built with hipped roofs. It had a central hall and classrooms which radiated from the centre. The buildings were surrounded by grounds. In 1973 the school became comprehensive. In 2005 the school was closed and demolished.
