Tabor Welsh Independent Chapel was first built in 1792, but later rebuilt in 1842 and renovated in 1883-4. It is in the Simple Round-Headed style, to the design of John Humphreys of Treforest. It is of the long-wall entry type, entered via a pair of panelled doors beneath porch gables, above each porch is a panelled arched window. The roof is of slate with ridge tiles. The front facade is also partially slated, while the remainder of the building is roughcast.
Within, the chapel has a gallery, mounted on cast-iron columns, around three sides. The gallery's balustrade is of timber panelling topped by an elaborate cast-iron panel of decorative foliage.
