Gundry's Shaft, Bryntail Mine, was first mentioned 1708, but disused by 1788, it was finally closed in 1884. It comprises three separate areas: the western ore processing buildings which contains the upper and lower dressing buildings, drying areas, settling tanks, ore bins, a cottage, waterwheel pits and the leats that served them; the eastern ore processing buildings, which contains several unconsolidated buildings, a stone-lined wheel pit and several buddles; and Gundry's Shaft and spoil heap, which contains the unconsolidated remains of a shaft head, spoil heap and pump and winding house.
