Aberfan lock keeper's cottage, for lock no.6/7 (nprn 85388) on the Glamorganshire Canal (nprn 34425), is a two-storey house built in squared rubble under a pitched slated roof with ashlar dressings to all openings and corners. Stables (nprn 85389) stand to the south and the west wall of double lock no.6/7 stands east of the house; a bridge (nprn 91529) over the tail of the lock has been demolished.
