Alhtough the slipway appears on earlier OS Mapping, it is likely that it was improved during the period of MOS EE AA Ynyslas to allow access to the foreshore range for the recovery of projectiles. It is assocaited with the camera observation post, ranging finding installations and BCF hut still extant in the vicinity (see NPRNs 408403-4, and 506533-4).
