Hen Gapel Independent Chapel was built in 1739, enlarged in 1778, rebuilt in 1821, renovated in 1874-78, extensively remodelled in 1881 and further modified in 1904 . The present chapel, dated 1881, is built in the later Vernacular and Sub-Classical style of the long-wall entry type. Hen Gapel is now Grade 2 Listed as a fine and well preserved late nineteenth century chapel with important historical and literary associations.
